Hi friends!
Can you believe it’s already February?! This month is extra special to me, not only is it the month of love and Valentine’s Day, but it’s also my birthday month! I always get so excited for February and this year in particular feels especially meaningful. After a year of unexpected hurdles, I’m feeling so grateful to celebrate my birthday and the chance to focus more on the things I truly want to do. It’s a reminder to embrace joy, cherish the little moments, and surround yourself with the people and experiences that make you happy.
Of course, no birthday celebration is complete without one of my favorite family traditions! My mom, Gail, makes me her famous Angel Food Cake with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting every year and it’s something I always look forward to! You can check out the recipe here and trust me, it’s as delicious as it sounds. There’s something so comforting about keeping traditions alive, especially when they’re tied to love and celebration.

What’s Filling My Cup This Month
- Our Shorkie puppies, Teddy and Austin! We call them “The Labubus” (since they remind us of those little stuffed animals!) and we have a cute nighttime routine called “Boo Boo Bedtime”! When we’re getting ready for bed, they’ll run into their crates and tuck themselves in for bed – it’s so adorable and something I look forward to every night!
- Ed planned a warm weather birthday vacation that I’m so excited for! With so much going on, this will give us the opportunity to slow down, soak up some sun, and truly relax and recharge – with a margarita in hand!
- I’m so grateful I live so close to my Mom because we love doing lunch dates together! One of our go-to lunch spots is Henolopen City Oyster House – if you’re ever in Rehoboth Beach, you have to check it out! The clam strips alone are worth the visit!
- February always reminds me that Spring is just around the corner! I’m so ready for longer days, warmer weather, and fresh blooms!
