Cook Time: 50-60 mins

Yield: 10 servings

Dish Size: 9” Pie Pan

INGREDIENTS

Pie

  • 1 pie crust (either homemade or store bought)
  • 5-6 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced into ¼-inch slices
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Topping

  • 1 cup flour
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup cold butter, cubed
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg

Directions

  1. Fit pie dough into a 9” temp-tations® pie pan and crimp edges. Place in fridge until ready to fill.
  2. In a large bowl combine apples, lemon juice, brown and granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Stir to coat evenly. Set aside.
  3. For topping, in a medium bowl combine flour, granulated and brown sugars, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. With a pastry cutter or fork, blend butter into mixture until coarse crumbs form. With your hands, squeeze mixture together until all butter is absorbed and topping comes together.
  5. Remove pie pan from fridge and spread apples evenly into crust, discarding any liquid that may have been released from apples. Sprinkle crumb topping evenly on top of apples.
  6. With rack in lowest position, bake in a preheated 375°F oven for 50-60 minutes until mixture is bubbly. If crust or crumb topping begins to brown too quickly, cover with a pie shield or loosely with aluminum foil.
  7. Cool completely before serving. Your pie will keep for 2 days at room temperature or up to 5 days in fridge.
