Cook Time: 50-60 mins
Yield: 10 servings
Dish Size: 9” Pie Pan
INGREDIENTS
Pie
- 1 pie crust (either homemade or store bought)
- 5-6 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced into ¼-inch slices
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- ⅓ cup light brown sugar
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Topping
- 1 cup flour
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup light brown sugar
- ½ cup cold butter, cubed
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
Directions
- Fit pie dough into a 9” temp-tations® pie pan and crimp edges. Place in fridge until ready to fill.
- In a large bowl combine apples, lemon juice, brown and granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Stir to coat evenly. Set aside.
- For topping, in a medium bowl combine flour, granulated and brown sugars, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- With a pastry cutter or fork, blend butter into mixture until coarse crumbs form. With your hands, squeeze mixture together until all butter is absorbed and topping comes together.
- Remove pie pan from fridge and spread apples evenly into crust, discarding any liquid that may have been released from apples. Sprinkle crumb topping evenly on top of apples.
- With rack in lowest position, bake in a preheated 375°F oven for 50-60 minutes until mixture is bubbly. If crust or crumb topping begins to brown too quickly, cover with a pie shield or loosely with aluminum foil.
- Cool completely before serving. Your pie will keep for 2 days at room temperature or up to 5 days in fridge.
