DESSERT

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (16.5 oz) roll of refrigerated chocolate chip or sugar cookie dough
  • Chocolate frosting (can be a store-bought can)
  • White frosting or white cookie icing

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray.
  3. Press the entire roll of cookie dough evenly into the bottom of the round pan.
  4. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are set.
  5. Let the cookie cake cool completely in the pan before removing it.
  6. To shape the football, use a knife to cut a 1-inch strip from the center of the round cookie. Discard the middle strip and push the two remaining halves together.
  7. Melt some chocolate frosting in the microwave until it is pourable (about 30 seconds). Pour the melted frosting over the top and spread it to fill the football shape.
  8. Use white frosting or icing to pipe the football laces onto the chocolate. Start with a long, straight line down the center, then pipe several smaller lines across it.
  9. Allow the frosting to set for 1–2 hours before serving.
