  • 1 box vanilla cake mix 
  • 1-1/2 tsp pumpkin spice extract 
  • 2 cans cream cheese frosting 
  • 2 tsp cinnamon 
  • Pumpkin pie spice (optional, for garnish) 

Tara Tip

  • Using a frosting piping bag with a large tip will give your cupcakes a very professional look
  • Add an extra bit of fun to these by topping with a fall candy, like a candy corn pumpkin!



  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  2. Line cupcake pans with baking cups (makes 24 standard cupcakes)
  3. Prepare the cake mix using the directions on the box and add the pumpkin spice extract 
  4. Divide the mixture into 24 cupcakes 
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean 
  6. While the cupcakes bake, mix cream cheese frosting and 2 tsp. ground cinnamon 
  7. Cool completely, then use a spatula or piping bag with a large tip to frost cupcakes
  8. Dust the cupcakes with pumpkin pie spice before serving & enjoy!
