Hi Friends!
If you haven’t heard the exciting news, Ed and I adopted two adorable Shorkie (Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix) puppies, Teddy and Austin!! We were heartbroken when we lost our two boys, Carter and Tux last Christmas. It has taken us some time but we wanted to add a furry friend to our pack for a while now, and the timing was perfect so we couldn’t resist.
Ed and I had found a puppy that we had planned to name Teddy and from the second we saw a picture of him, we knew he was meant to be ours! We named Teddy after a combination of our names, Tara and Ed, but it’s extra fitting because he also looks like a little teddy bear!
After flying home from my girls trip to Provence and Paris, Ed had planned to meet me in Newark, NJ so we could adopt & pick up Teddy together. Here’s the fun part: little did Ed know that I had secretly arranged to adopt Teddy’s sibling, Austin, too! I named Austin after the street that Ed grew up on, it holds a special meaning to us. It’s a little tribute to Ed's dad too and we know Sidney would absolutely adore Austin.
Teddy and Austin have completely stolen our hearts and have brought so much joy to our home! Their siblings, Fozzie and Jackson, are adjusting to the recent additions but it’s been amazing watching them bond and play together. While having two 10 week old puppies is adorable, they’ve definitely kept us on our toes. They love playing and wrestling, discovering new hiding spots around the house, and yes…occasionally chewing on my favorite shoes.
