Total Time: 3 hrs

Prep Time: 30 mins

Cook Time: 2 hrs, 30 mins

Yield: 4-6 servings

Dish Size: 3.5-Quart Baking Dish

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 apples
  • 1 (5- to 7-lb.) turkey breast
  • 3 Tbsp butter, melted
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp all spice
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp water

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place turkey breast in a 3.5-quart temp-tations® baking dish. Core and slice one of the apples into wedges. Stuff wedges into the turkey cavity.
  2. In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients, except for brown sugar, water, and remaining apples. Pour mixture over turkey breast, rubbing over all exposed skin. Bake uncovered in a preheated 325°F oven for 90 minutes, tenting with tin foil if skin begins to over brown.
  3. Core and slice remaining 2 apples into wedges and add to baking dish. Combine brown sugar and water and spoon over turkey breast. Tent with tin foil and return dish to oven, baking 30-60 additional minutes, until a meat thermometer inserted into thickest part registers 185°F. Let turkey rest 10 minutes before carving.

This method also works well with whole turkeys, just be sure to cook until internal temperature reaches 185°F.
