Cook Time: 20 mins

Yield: 12 servings

Dish Size: Tray

  • 6 hard-boiled eggs, halved
  • ½-¾ cup mayonnaise
  • 1-2 Tbsp spicy brown mustard
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 12 medium black olives
  • paprika, for garnish

  1. Place egg yolks in a small bowl. Mash with a fork and combine with mayo, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  2. Spoon yolks back into whites.
  3. Pat olives dry with a paper towel. Slice 6 olives in half lengthwise and place olive halves on top of eggs to form the body of the spiders.
  4. Slice remaining olives in half lengthwise and cross cut into thin slices for spider legs. You’ll need 6 to 8 legs for each spider.
  5. Sprinkle with paprika to garnish. Serve on a temp-tations® tray.

Tara’s Tidbits®

I bring the eggs to a boil, reduce to simmer, and cook for 18-20 minutes. I drain the eggs, cover with cold water, crack the shells, and peel the eggs immediately. The egg yolks will mash easier and mix smoother if you don’t let the eggs get too cold.
