Cook Time: 5 mins

Yield: 1 serving

Equipment: serving tray, soup & sandwich sets

Ingredients

  • 8 oz sliced swiss cheese
  • 8 oz sliced ham
  • 8 oz sliced corned beef
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • Russian (or Thousand Island) dressing, to taste
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 1/2 cup sauerkraut

Tara Tip: Serve this delicious combination on a soup & sandwich set with the sauerkraut in the cup/bowl.

Directions

    1. Preheat a waffle iron.
    2. Place 2 slices of the bread on a flat work surface. Spread one side of each slice with the dressing. On 1 slice of bread, stack half of the cheese, ham, and corned beef in layers. Top with the other slice of bread, dressing side in, to form a sandwich.
    3. Spread softened butter on both outer sides of the sandwich and place in the hot waffle iron. Cook until the sandwich is golden brown on the outside and the cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.
    4. Remove from the grill and cut into quarters. Serve immediately with warmed sauerkraut, and repeat with the remaining sandwich.
