Total Time: 70 mins

Prep Time: 30 mins

Cook Time: 40 mins

Yield: 2 boards, if you are using a larger board just double each recipe.

Equipment:

    Ingredients

    • 5 to 6 cloves of roasted garlic
    • Salt
    • Zest of 1 lemon
    • Herb(s)- I used curly leaf parsley for mine, you could also use flat leaf parsley or another herb of your choice
    • Red pepper flakes
    • Shawarma seasoning
    • Ciabatta bread (or any crusty bread will do)

        Directions

        1. Roast the garlic by either putting a few cloves in a small sauce pan, covering with oil and watching until golden; or cutting the top 1/4 off a bulb, brushing with oil, wrapping in foil and putting in the oven at 400°F for 30-40 minutes
        2. Next, spread butter over 2/3 of the serving board, leaving room for the bread.
        3. Sprinkle a big pinch of salt over the butter. Next, sprinkle on some shawarma seasoning (or use any seasoning you like).
        4. Zest a lemon over the butter
        5. Once the garlic is cooled, use your fingers or a knife to break the cloves into pieces and dot around the butter
        6. Chop your herbs a little and sprinkle over the top and finish with a pinch of red pepper flakes.
        7. Serve immediately with warm ciabatta.
