Five Ideas for Setting Your Table
Five Ideas for Setting Your Table
Setting a beautiful table for a dinner party, family gathering or holiday is easier than you might think, and with a few simple tips, you can have your guests oohing and ahhing in no time. Here are my top tips for creating a stunning tablescape and creating wonderful memories.
1. Use coordinating dinnerware and napkins and rings…
Choose a dinnerware pattern that will complement your tablecloth and napkin colors. If you're using solid-colored napkins, choose a dinnerware pattern with complementary colors. For example, if you're using pumpkin napkins, try mixing them with our white woodland dinnerware pattern layered with our pumpkin accent plates for added detail and dimension.
2. Use color to enhance your centerpiece...
Whether you’re using fresh or silk flowers or other centerpiece items, use colors that work well together. I love to feature mixtures of orange and yellows on my table and, to create contrast, I mix in a few pops of deep purple in our centerpiece. This creates dimension and warmth to your table.
3. Mix and match textures...
One of the easiest ways to create interest on your table is to mix different textures together. I love pairing my textured Woodland dinnerware and centerpiece bowl with my table runner, placemats and napkins. Think about how you can layer in your glassware too. If you table is a natural material like wood, that adds another dimension to showcasing your stoneware and flatware.
4. Add Height With Candles And Centerpiece Items...
Adding height to your table is a quick and easy way to make it look elegant and festive. Place candles on tall candle holders down the center of the table or on both sides of your floral centerpiece. This will help draw the eye up and make the table seem more luxurious.
Now it's time to add some decorative accents to your table. I love to use napkin rings, small dishes, serving bowls, and other accessories to dress up your table. Choose items that match your theme or color scheme.
Last but not least, don't forget the food! Serve up your favorite dishes on beautiful serving platters and serving dishes and bowls. And don't forget the wine glasses! A nice set of wine glasses will complete your table setting.
With these simple steps, you can have a beautifully set table for your next dinner party. Just get ready for lots of great food, friends and fun!
